The food was amazing! Definitely try the koshary, you won’t regret it! Came here with vegans and meat eaters and we all enjoyed our dishes very much. Staff/ owner is very nice and personable.
We enjoyed a meal at this unpretentious restaurant. We had hummus, pita, and fetter for apps. Entrees were grilled branzino, shrimp and pasta and chicken swarma. We also had a Alexander Great salad (great!) but since meals came with salad it was too much. My fav was the branzino. The seasonings were delicious. Watch the many bones. I wish however that I had reread the article from the Post before we went because it may have been better to try the Koshary vs. the shrimp dish (so so), and the tahini vs. hummus (so so). I would skip the fetter. Strangely, it was mentioned that the food was closer to Yemeni than Egyptian. I’ll be back to try the more traditional dishes.
My family and I had an amazing experience at King of Koshary in Arlington! The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They answered all our questions with a smile. Can't wait to come back for more flavorful delights!
We came to King of Koshary at the recommendation of my father, who read about it in the paper. We already knew it would be good, but the service, food and atmosphere far exceeded our already high expectations!
The atmosphere transports you to Egypt, and is casual and very comfortable with nice music. The staff were thoughtful and made sure we had a great meal.
For food, we had the babaganoush and feter to start, both of which were fabulous. We also got the koshary, lamb tajeen, and beef kofta. All of which were well flavored, good portions and a great price. We look forward to coming back very soon!
At first glance, the ambience looked very inviting and the place was clean although the cashier area with clothes and items for sale looked unkempt. They had 2 Egyptian mummies which were great but misplaced- it would have been better if …
The food was good especially the liver dish and chicken with rice and molokkia
King of Koshary never fails. The food is authentic and made with soul. Today I had the cenjari branzino and it was incredible. The fish was so delicate and mild, and the spices were elegant, exotic, and perfectly balanced. I like the food here so much that I ordered a bunch of items just to take home—molokhia, ful (fava beans, which autocorrect wants to call “fave beans”, not inappropriately), and rice with vermicelli.
The server made the mint lemonade by hand, and it had the perfect amount of sweetness. I also highly, highly recommend the Turkish coffee.
Also you can’t beat the Egyptian classical music in the background. It makes for such an engaging atmosphere.
All in all, King of Koshary is one of my favorite restaurants in northern Virginia. You have to come check it out!
The food was tasty and it felt I was back home. I tried koshary and lentil soup. Won’t be my last visit to this amazing place. The owners were really nice and welcoming. The background music/songs were a great addition.
